We offer a variety of school programs ranging from Elementary School assembly programs for the entire school to intimate High School programs for only 10 to 30 students. Here is an overview of some of our programs:
Elementary School Programs
These programs focus on basic, simple principles. We demonstrate how brass instruments work, what the difference is between the different brass instruments and how we must work together in order to play music. There is a lot of interacting with the students in this program. A typically Elementary program would be 45 to 55 minutes long, depending on the specific school.
Middle School Programs
These programs are aimed at children ages 12 to 14. We play some classical music but also jazz and upbeat tunes, keeping the program well balanced for this age. We customize this program depending on how many students are present and what the students are currently learning and studying about music.
High School Programs
Assembly Program
Generally, these programs are aimed at a wide audience who may or may not be interested in further studying music. These programs are typically an hour but can be changed according to the specific school’s needs. We play a wide range of musical styles, ranging from the baroque period to movie themes.
Smaller Class Size Programs
These programs are for a much smaller number of students, from 10 to 30 or so. Typically for music classes, these programs are more like master classes. We play certain pieces and talk about how we work to make it better, give suggestions on how to practice both individually and as a group and interact with the students, answering specific questions they my have.
Music School Programs
It is always a joy for us to come to a music school and share with music students what we have learned. In these programs, we try to both play and leave plenty of time for questions and discussion.
